I am a graduate level intern student studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Kerry Donaldson at the center and Dr. Shannon McFarlin at Lamar University. I will complete my graduate studies in May 2023.
I received my undergraduate degree at Sam Houston State University in psychology, and I received a Master’s in Educational Leadership from The University of North Texas. I spent almost 30 years in the educational system, working in the classroom, working with teachers, and working as a behavior intervention specialist.
I believe in client choice and working with client strengths in order for healing and growth to occur. I work with those who have experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and children who have behavioral issues. I enjoy working with teens, young adults, college students, adults and educators.
I also believe that those who experience difficulties must become self-aware and learn self-management, including social awareness and relationship building. As your therapist, I will be genuine, empathetic, and we will build a connection in order to help you grow and overcome. Everyone has the ability to grow and change. As we grow, adjustments and improvements occur. With our sessions, I will collaborate with you to identify and improve areas in your life for growth and improvement. I will be with you on your journey moving forward.
